Genesis Parkside Homes in London at an Affordable Price
Parkside living in London often comes at a high price but thanks to Genesis buyers can secure a new home in the idyllic park setting of New Hendon Village in Collingdale at an affordable price. Situated in peaceful restored parkland, a new one bedroom apartment here is priced from £48,750 for a 25% share based on a full market value of £195,000.
The last phase of apartments available under shared-ownership at the development have now been released, heralding the last chance to buy a truly desirable home in this highly coveted location at an amazing price.
Shared ownership is designed to help those who do not own a property get on the property ladder. Buyers can purchase between 25% and 75% and increase their share at any time, all the way to 100% and outright ownership.
New Hendon Village is available to anyone who does not already own a property and is unable to buy a home on the open market. Their total household income must be less than £60,000 per annum and ideally have savings of around £3,500 to cover moving and legal costs.
At New Hendon Village, you’re buying much more than a home: you’re buying into a gracious yet convenient lifestyle. The development sits at the head of Grahame Park, a great sweep of wonderfully restored parkland complete with tree-lined avenues and ornamental lakes.
And if you fancy a change from your own parkland, nearby are the 250 acres of Fryent Country Park, a rural paradise of conserved meadows, woodland and ponds, while London’s favourite playground, the 790-acre Hampstead Heath, is just 12 minutes away from nearby Colindale Underground Station.
The buildings at New Hendon Village have been sensitively designed to make the most of views and natural light. Using the finest modern materials, the stepped apartment buildings epitomise contemporary style. And all the apartments boast the same high-spec finish and thoughtful design that have contributed so much to the development’s success. Inside, the calm, open-plan living space is flooded with light through the full-height glazing.
Sleek and modern kitchens feature solid granite worktops and ‘Roman cherry’ units and contrasting white walls, and come complete with a stainless steel oven and hob and an integrated extractor fan. Each one has its own balcony or courtyard garden, and a video entry system provides security.
New Hendon Village is part of Barnet’s ongoing regeneration, with excellent retail, social and transport facilities helping to make this part of north London the place to live in the capital. New cafes, restaurants and bars are creating a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The development is approximately a ten-minute walk from Colindale Underground Station, which offers Northern Line services to Brent Cross in five minutes, Hampstead in 12 minutes, Camden Town in 19 minutes and London Bridge in a little over half an hour. For travel by car, the M1 is nearby for access to Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds, while Heathrow and Luton airports are just 37 minutes away.

Why Wyndham Park is the place for First Time Buyers
Buyers from across the region are turning to David Wilson Homes at Wyndham Park in Yeovil for their first ventures into the property market.
The housebuilder is celebrating a number of sales at the popular development under the innovative FirstBuy scheme, designed to help potential buyers secure the finances required to become homeowners.
And it is holding a special event this month to help even more first time buyers onto the property market.
On Thursday May 17 a team of experts will be on hand at the development from 4-7pm to help potential buyers find out how easy it can be to become a homeowner.
The focus of the event will be FirstBuy which sales director Louise Ware said is perfect for those who may previously have found it difficult to put initial funds in place for their first home
Under FirstBuy, buyers are offered a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of the property, jointly funded by David Wilson Homes and the Government's Homes and Communities Agency.
They then have to find the remaining 80 per cent of the price themselves. Up to 76 per cent of this could be a mortgage, leaving a deposit of just four per cent.
"In practice, this means people buying homes with us would potentially be able to access the market for far less than they might think," added Louise.
"This is not social housing, it is a privately-owned first home - and any household with a combined income of up to £60,000 qualifies. Availability is limited though, so anyone keen to secure a brand new house at this outstanding new development should contact us soon for more details."
Wyndham Park is situated on the eastern outskirts of Yeovil, next to open South Somerset countryside. It is conveniently located with easy access to the A303 and the main Waterloo railway line to London. Yeovil itself has a thriving retail centre and is well served by shopping and sporting facilities.
The average age of the first-time buyer is now 38 – and the typical deposit on a property is more than half the average income. With headlines like these you would have thought that couples would be put off buying a new home, but for Lloyd Pollock and Lydia Girardi purchasing a new home in Irthlingborough was easy thanks to the assistance of Bloor Homes.
When Lloyd and Lydia came to the decision that they wanted to set up their first ever home together, they were unsure of the type of property they would like to buy. To either go for an older property, that would need money interjected into it and which they didn’t really have, or to buy new. When they saw the homes being built by Bloor at The Lanterns, and with all the finishing touches already in place, it was no contest.
